In 1975 a college suitemate was looking at a law school in Oregon. Their promo booklet had a double-fold photo of the Columbia River Gorge near Crown Point, an observation site on the old Columbia Gorge Highway (now the site for uncountable car commercials).
I thought it was the most beautiful place I'd ever seen.
Five years later I enrolled in that law school, and spent the next 28 years in the Northwest.
